There are (2) main types of 'high-end' flag material. SolarMax Nylon (200 denier) and a heavy 2-ply spun Polyester. The SolarMax Nylon is the main material used in making most quality flags. The 2-ply spun Polyester, is a heavier material and meant for high wind/exposure sites. Each manufacturer calls their product a different name, but they are made from the same material.

We just refer to them as 'Nylon' and 'Long Wear '.
There are a number of cotton, poly-cotton, lightweight poly/nylon, & synthetic materials out there from various manufacturers. These are fine for indoor use or on a small pole/bracket mount on the side of your house. These flags are very affordable, but will not hold up to the daily flying on a flagpole.

OUR U.S. FLAG CONSTRUCTION
Embroidered StarsEmbroidered white stars are standard on all
flags up to and including 8'x12'.
Appliqued StarsFlags larger than 8'x12' have opaque nylon
white stars with zig-zag stitching throughout.
StitchingAll seams are double-stitched and fly ends
have either 2, 4, or 6 rows of double-stitching.
Brass GrommetsFlags up to and including 6'x10' feature strong,
durable solid brass grommets
Metal ThimblesFlags 8'x12 and larger are finished with nylon
rope sewn into the header with galvanized
metal thimbles.

Patriots Plus was established in 1986 as a home business by Lanny Byrer to keep him busy in his retirement from The Timken Company.
He kept extremely busy and enjoyed every minute with the business and his customers until he became ill in 2002. Unable to run the business, he turned over the reigns to his son Greg. Lanny soon passed away in 2003 after a brave battle.
He was an inspiration to all around him and a wonderful father and grandfather. He is greatly missed.
In the spirit of Lanny and the spirit of Patriotism (no matter what country you are from), Patriots Plus continues to offer the best quality flag, flagpole, and related products at the best prices, locally and online. We deal only with the top (few) manufacturers in the industry, so you are assured to get the highest quality products.
